SPRING SPECIALS HAVE SPRUNG!
This spring, I thought it would be a great time to literally stop and smell the roses. Roses are one of my favorite flowers (plumeria, roses and baby’s breath all tie for first place — I can’t pick just one) and though my choice, just like my preference for pumpkin spice in the fall, may be cliche, I don’t care. Roses are fantastic. Their sweet smell, their soft petals, their vibrant colors make me happy and nostalgic. In the city, rose salesman would walk up and down busy intersections when traffic was stopped with bundles of roses, a dollar each, and sometimes I’d buy one for myself. I’d put it in a little vase and sniff it and admire the way it lit up a room, then dry the petals in newspaper.
Rose essential oil boosts feelings of peace and relaxation, and helps the skin barrier balance and heal, providing nutrients and antioxidants. So I found an essential oil by Revive which contains Rose Centifolia, a breed of rose from the Netherlands often used in France for its sweet, honey-like scent as a natural perfume ingredient. Revive’s “Smell the Roses” Essential Oil also contains notes of Ho Wood, Geranium, Ylang Ylang and Clove, giving it a heavenly floral aroma.
This oil blend will be used in the Sweet and Spicy Rose Massage-Facial combos. For the Sweet Rose Massage and Facial, I’m pairing it with Elite Creed Natural’s Honey Oil with coconut and avocado for light and balanced hydration. For the Spicy Rose services, it’s paired with Revive’s Turmeric Essential Oil, as well as Beautique Goals’ Rose Tea Body Butter containing tacuma seed extract. Tacuma palm seeds grow in Brazil and have a thick texture that locks in moisture.
For the Sweet Rose Facial, Gnat and Bee’s Pink Rose Clay & Tea Mask with white kaolin clay, pink rose clay, geranium and rose hips deeply hydrates and is perfect for sensitive, dry or mature skin. The clay blend pulls impurities from the skin, while rose soothes and hydrates.
If roses are just too sweet for you, don’t worry! I’ve got you covered. I’m also offering a Lemongrass Massage, and you can pair it with a bare pedicure for a lovely spa day. Plymouth Soap Works’ Lemongrass Essential oil uplifts the senses, like rose, but with a cool, light, lemony scent. It’s paired with Spa Redi’s Lemongrass Lotion, a gentle aloe based lotion with notes of lychee. Lychee is a tropical fruit packed with Vitamin C and antioxidants that’ll give your skin a radiant glow.
The pleasant, mild weather we’ve been having recently makes me particularly excited to break out all these spring products. So while you’re spending more time outside enjoying spring’s sunshine days, I hope you’ll also be inspired to have a relaxing spa day with spring’s lovely scents at Bella Mina.
